Saving gas by driving slower or smoother is not stupid or gay , it is saving money and increasing the life of your car ...

@hitachi088 I've alwaysdone that since I started driving, it just didn't have a fancy term or following.. I'm no tree hugging hippie or anything.. this is in a Toyota truck.. not a Prius LOL

@chrisknows I would like you to find that. Because I have tried many techniques and so far accelerating slowly is the best.

@5botball switching between gears? thats what the transmission is meant to do, I'm not quite sure what your referring to.. Engine on and off doesn't effect anything.. Just change some of your driving habits and that'll save you a huge chunk of money in the long run... you don't need to turn the engine off to get good results..

I always am concious about gearing down and avoiding using my brakes, given there isn't an ass behind me wanting to race to the red light, save gas and break pads...
